Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Stays Perfect in District

The Lady Purple Tigers Volleyball team stayed perfect in the district on Tuesday night by going on the road and defeating the Yellow Jackets of Trousdale County.  The ladies won in three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-7, and 25-15.  With the win, that brings their record to 23-4 overall, and 10-0 in the district with only two matches left in the district.

Brookelyn Davis led all hitters with 12 kills, while also setting up 13 assists to other hitters.  Natalie Fountain earner 8, Mikayla Nix 5, Mackailyn Cherry 3, Abby Parkerson  2, Brittni Allison and Morgan Brown 1 each. Cherry is accredited with the remaining 19 assists.

The Lady Tigers took 13 points in aces as Cherry contributed 4 of them, Faith Pulley 3, Ali Conrad, Parkerson and Davis added 2.

Senior Libero Sydney Murrell picked up 17 digs, while DS Alie Tunks had 15. Davis passed 7, Pulley 2, and Cherry 1.

Parkerson and Cherry earned the only solo blocks for the team, but Fountain, Allison, and Davis teamed up 2 assisted blocks each.

The Lady Purple Tigers will be back home Thursday vs district opponent Gordonsville HS as they honor the team’s three seniors: Ali Conrad, Sydney Murrell, and Mackailyn Cherry.

Monday, 9/30 the Lady Tigers will host Upperman HS, and they will be honoring their own as they celebrate WHS staff/faculty night. Come out and support!
