Watertown Purple Tigers  fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-5 defeat to Antioch on Tuesday. Watertown Purple Tigers  scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Carter Brown, a single by Brandon Allison, and a double by Brandon Watts. Watertown Purple Tigers  fell behind early in the loss.  Antioch scored on an error, a walk by Ruiz, a walk by Griffin, and a groundout by Lopez in the second inning. Antioch pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning.  In the second an error scored one run for Antioch, Ruiz drew a walk, scoring one run, Griffin drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lopez grounded out, scoring one run. Watertown Purple Tigers notched four runs in the fourth inning. Brown, Allison, and Watts all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Griffin earned the victory on the mound for Antioch. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, walking zero.  Ruiz, Buchanan, and Lopez all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Will Poston took the loss for Watertown Purple Tigers. He lasted one-third of an inning, allowing zero hits and four runs. Austin Brewington started the game for Watertown Purple Tigers. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Watts led Watertown Purple Tigers  with two hits in two at bats.  Watertown Purple Tigers  stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Allison led the way with two. Antioch didn’t commit a single error in the field. Griffin had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
