Watertown Purple Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-5 loss to Cannon County on Tuesday. Cannon County scored on a single by Z Basham and a groundout by H Alexander in the second inning. Watertown Purple Tigers  lost despite out-hitting Cannon County nine to six. Cannon County scored three runs in the fifth inning. Cannon County’s big inning was driven by walks by M Calamia and Basham and a fielder’s choice by B Elkins. G Alexander was on the pitcher’s mound for Cannon County. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out three. Ben Vance led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Watertown Purple Tigers. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out two.  Kendal Bayse threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. Watertown Purple Tigers tallied nine hits on the day.  Heath Price and Tyler Vastola each racked up multiple hits for Watertown Purple Tigers. Vastola and Price each collected two hits to lead Watertown Purple Tigers.
